Cosmopolitan
Cranberry, lime and orange liqueur give a Cosmopolitan its bright fruit-and-citrus direction, supported by a measured vodka base. This home recipe is a general interpretation of the classic on Beiruty’s menu rather than the restaurant’s exact formula. Cranberry juice cocktail is specified because its sweetness helps balance fresh lime; unsweetened cranberry juice would make a noticeably sharper drink. Shake until properly cold, then strain into a chilled small coupe. The orange twist provides aroma at the rim and makes the orange liqueur more noticeable without adding extra juice or sugar.

- Use cranberry juice cocktail for the stated balance; for unsweetened juice, begin with 5 ml added simple syrup.
- A pale pink color is normal; extra cranberry changes both the color and the balance.
